Tile of Spain: A Beach Beauty

As we recently celebrated Memorial Day, the unofficial start of summer and “beach season,” now is the perfect time to share an inspirational and innovative use of Spanish tile at the beach.  Here is the beautiful beach promenade in Benidorm, Alicante, Spain, an amazing project completed in 2009 by Spanish architects Carlos Ferrater and Xavier Marti Gali.

 

 

Colorful circular tile, developed by Tile of Spain manufacturer Keramia Ceramics, is used as paving.  The circular and triangular shapes are formed using die cut molds and the design flows with the undulating slopes of the promenade.
