Tile Trends: Encaustic and Hydraulic Cement Looks

Encaustic and hydraulic cement styles are making a comeback in tile. Spanish tile manufacturers are on the forefront of this ceramic tile trend. Available in a wide variety of colors and geometric patterns, hydraulic looks continue to attract attention. From distressed antique to contemporary colors, the mixed pattern look was seen at both Cevisama and Coverings 2014 on walls, floors and counter surfaces.

Here’s a look at some of the encaustic and hydraulic cement looks from Tile of Spain:

Vanguard Rise series from Aparici reaches towards the sky as an accent wall in this restaurant space.

Apavisa Hydraulic Blue creates a vivacious pattern on this bathroom floor.

Natucer Plume adds a touch of color and pattern to the kitchen floor seen here.

The Bulgary series from Mainzu creates drama on both the floor and accent wall of this kitchen with coordinating patterns.

A mix of encaustic and hydraulic cement patterns in the Tau Classic series create life and movement in this bathroom.
