Valencia, Spain – From February 8-11, the 29th edition of Cevisama will be the venue for the Spanish ceramic tile sector to showcase their most innovative products. This annual international exhibition for architectural ceramic, kitchen and bath furnishings, raw materials, glazes and frits, will be held at the Valencia Exhibition Center and will set the tone for ceramic tile innovation for the year. As well as ceramic tile manufacturers the fair also includes national and international exhibitors of coverings for the construction industry, plumbing and bathroom fittings.

ASCER and ICEX (Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade) have rolled out a program of activities under the Tile of Spain banner as part of their drive to promote Spanish ceramic tiles throughout the world. One of the major elements of the program involved inviting more than 90 journalists, architects, designers and specifiers from countries around the world.

 

This year’s guests include B2B and trade media focused on interior design, architecture and construction materials from Bulgaria, China, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, India, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, South Korea, Sweden, the UK, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates and the United States. The architecture world’s growing emphasis on ceramic wall and floor tiles as a building material and construction solution is evidenced by the ongoing success of the international press visitor program. Given this community’s awareness and engagement with the Spanish tile industry, the press visitor program has become one of the main mechanics for promoting the industry to the global market.

TRANS/HITOS is back as part of CEVISAMA for the seventh consecutive year. This popular exhibit demonstrates the breadth and scope of possibilities that Spanish ceramic tile offers to enhance public spaces through architecture and planning. The 2011 display, “CON-FLUENCES” shows the architectural applications for ceramic tile along with new uses for ceramic floor tiles in both urban and domestic spaces.

Public Works Technical Seminar

On the third day of the fair, Thursday, February 10, ASCER will be running a technical seminar for architects, quantity surveyors and engineers in government departments as part of its drive to promote the uses of ceramic tiles to public works specifiers. The seminar will give an overview of the many different solutions that ceramic tile offers for public works projects and will include a round table discussion between experts on the subject and their experiences.ASCER is manning an information stand (number 26, Lobby area level 2, opposite TRANS/HITOS) to handle all inquiries regarding Spain’s ceramic tile industry, products and manufacturers. The stand will host a display of the striking creations that emerged from the ambitious “4senses” innovation project.
