Tile of Spain USA recently embarked on an unforgettable journey through Valencia and Castellón, bringing together a select group of architects, interior designers and journalists for the 2025 Passport to Creativity Tour. Over four immersive days, attendees explored the rich history, innovative craftsmanship and cutting-edge trends shaping Spain’s ceramic tile industry. From architectural marvels and factory visits to Cevisama—the premier ceramics and bathroom trade fair—the tour provided firsthand insight into the artistry and technology behind Spanish tile.
Day One: Architectural Wonders & A Warm Welcome
The adventure began with a guided architectural tour of Valencia, led by architect Adrián Torres Astaburuaga. The tour began in the iconic City of Arts & Sciences, where guests explored awe-inspiring structures like L’Hemisfèric, L’Oceanogràfic and Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía.


The tour continued with a stroll through the Old City, admiring the intricate tilework of Central Market and the historic Valencia North Station.


The day concluded with a welcome dinner hosted by ASCER (Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers’ Association) at Bombas Gens, a renowned cultural space dedicated to digital art and innovation.


Day Two: Cevisama & Celebrating Spanish Tile Excellence


The second day kicked off at Cevisama, where attendees explored groundbreaking tile collections from Spanish manufacturers. The morning began at the Keraben Grupo showroom, featuring Metropol, Ibero and Keraben brands.
At the Tile of Spain press conference, ASCER President Vicente Nomdedeu addressed the state of Spain’s ceramic industry, followed by a presentation on upcoming interior design trends from Observatorio de Tendencias del Hábitat (OTH). The event wrapped up with the announcement of the Tile of Spain Awards winners, recognizing outstanding architectural and interior design projects.
The day continued with a visit to the innovative Hotel Cevisama exhibition, as well as deep dives into the latest ceramic innovations at the booths of Undefasa, Vives and Natucer, culminating in an evening at the Cevisama Awards presentation at the City of Arts & Sciences.


Day Three: Factory Visits & Tile Craftsmanship in Castellón
Leaving Valencia behind, the group traveled to Castellón, on the third day of the tour, where the heart of Spain’s ceramic tile production. resides
The day began with a showroom and factory tour at Equipe, where attendees discovered the intricate production process behind Spain’s vibrant decorative tiles.

At Mainzu, guests witnessed the tile printing process and the artistry behind the renowned Spanish motifs. The brand offered an incredible display of hospitality with refreshments before departing.

The final stop was Venux, where large-format tile manufacturing took center stage. Attendees first explored the showroom and then observed the production process to understand how the finished designs come to life.

Day Four: A Final Look at Cevisama & Farewell to Spain
On the last day, the group returned to Cevisama, exploring the latest collections from Apavisa, Arcana Cerámica, Cevica, Decocer, Peronda, Harmony, Museum, Exagres, STN Ceramica and Realonda.
After a lunch break, the afternoon was spent visiting the booths of Halcón, Emotion, Cicogres, Gres Aragón, Gayaforesand Cerlat, ensuring a final glimpse into Spain’s cutting-edge ceramic innovations.


To close the trip, attendees explored El Cabanyal, one of Valencia’s most charming neighborhoods, before gathering for a farewell dinner at El Trinquet de Pelayo. Over shared stories and laughter, the group reflected on the inspirations, discoveries and connections forged throughout the 2025 Passport to Creativity Tour.
Spain’s ceramic legacy continues to push the boundaries of design and technology and this journey offered an unparalleled opportunity to witness it firsthand.
