It’s back to school time across the country. Did you know that Tile of Spain has a connection to Harvard University, America’s oldest educational institution? ASCER, the Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers Association, sponsors a program at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.
The ceramic systems research with the Design Robotics Group studies two major challenges for ceramic products in construction industry – the need for product diversity and customization, and the need to meet higher standards of environmental performance in design and construction.
Led by Dr. Martin Bechthold, the program’s work with the use of 3-D robotic technology in the customization of ceramic tiles was exhibited at 2012 Cevisama and is currently on display at the ASCER showroom in Castellon, Spain.
If you are interested in learning more about the program and are in the Boston area, join Tile of Spain for “Design within Designs: Progressive Ceramics in Today’s Architecture” a complimentary CEU program and networking event to be held October 17th.
