The 12th Annual Tile of Spain Awards awarded first prize in the Interior Design category to “Casa Luz”, the single family home interiors created by the architectural firm G Studio.
The winning project is a traditional village house with a new interior inside an existing building which took a contemporary and simplistic approach to design. Ceramicas Paya tiles were used for the flooring, while Ceramica Vives were used for the walls. Besides their hygienic and water-proofing properties, the tiles reflect the leaves of a birch tree in the center courtyard and the light from the patio resulting in bringing enchanting beauty into the home.
Using reliable natural materials like the ceramic tiles in the design layout created a whole new captivating look arranged around a courtyard.
Four structures were created in the Casa Luz project which included the kitchen, living room, and two bedrooms. A birch tree presides over the courtyard strategically separating the kitchen, the living room and the garden.
