Ceramica San Ginés Decorates The New Restaurant of Jose Andres with Hand Painted Tiles
Hotel SLS Brickell held its grand opening party on November 17th to showcase the 54-story building located in the social and financial heart of Miami. The hotel’s restaurant, Bazaar Mar by Jose Andres, was designed by Philippe Starck and stands out with its artistic tiling from Spanish ceramics company Ceramica San Ginés.
The restaurant project consists on 6,660 hand-painted tiles. The designs show various scenes alluding to recent topics in Latin American culture through characters in marked tattoo guise. These characters are integrated into recognizable landscapes within the Spanish decorative tradition.
Ceramic artist and Ceramica San Ginés owner Monica Garcia del Pino, attended this event with a small group from the company. She received enthusiastic greetings and reactions from the companies and attendees.
