Project: Nordstrom in Ottawa, Canada

In 2012, architects took on the challenge of transforming an old warehouse in Ottawa, Canada with Tile of Spain products and turning it into the upscale department store, Nordstrom. The Nordstrom building is located between two buildings in the Canadian capital, and has been turned into a popular shopping destination for both tourists and locals alike.




The Seattle based architecture firm, Callison, took special considerations in the materials they selected for the construction of the store. To stay congruent with the high-end image of Nordstrom, Callison needed to use materials that would not only be aesthetically pleasing, but also be able to withstand the cold weather of Ottawa, where temperatures can get as low as -4 °F.… Continue Reading
