The MUCA Auditorium and Music Complex in Alguena Spain shimmers in the sun thanks to Tile of Spain. This project by Estudio C O R (Miguel Rodenas + Jesús Olivares) was the 2011 winner of the Tile of Spain Awards for Architecture and Interior Design in the architecture category.
The job required the creation of a “low-cost” landmark, and iridescent ceramic tiling was selected for the exterior of the building. It is the iridescent Spanish ceramic tiles that offer a mother of pearl or rainbow appearance with changing light conditions.
